    Production stops require productive renovation of culverts

    During a repair stop in a production line, all work needs to be quickly executed, with high quality and durability for a long time to come. In just a few days, culverts were renovated under Billerud Korsnäs’ paper mill in Kalix, in the north of Sweden. Using Railcare’s relining method, the culverts were restored with a fibreglass reinforced lining, and will now fulfil their function for decades to come.

    After the machine exhibition in Münster, Railcare is charged for the future

    At the beginning of June, Railcare exhibited at the world’s largest exhibition for machinery, and maintenance technology on the railway; IAF Münster 2022. Among all the yellow machines, it was confirmed that the interest in battery operation was high and that Railcare is at the forefront.

    Faithful locomotives receive new life

    Railcare helps Infranord to give new life to two type TB diesel locomotives to better meet future environmental requirements and technical standards. The locomotives will have better engines that produce lower emissions, a new European Train Control System (ETCS) and a modernised driver environment. The work has been ongoing since the turn of the year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

    The battery-powered MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) is a maintenance machine for the railway that is currently working in perhaps its most advantageous environment – in a railway tunnel on the Citybanan – Stockholm.

    Railcare has completed a special project for Infranord and the end customer, Trafikverket. Involving the renovation of a 32-metre stone culvert under the railway, which is a central section of a 128 metres long culvert. The project offered its challenges to complete the work and required a great positive attitude.

    Successful transport project together with Leonhard Weiss

    At Railcare, several transport projects have been completed in 2021 on behalf of customers such as Infrakraft, LKAB, Aarsleff, Besab, NRC, Kaunis Iron and Leonhard Weiss. Railcare has worked with the latter throughout 2021 in a project that involved a total of three track replacements for the end customer Trafikverket. Railcare’s assignment for Leonhard Weiss was to successfully handle all transport by rail during the track replacements.

    In the right place, at the right time

    Railcare has been a contractor to Trafikverket for snow removal on the railway during the winter season for several years. In the snow removal contract, which is activated from mid-November to mid-March, Railcare provides efficient and safe snow removal at strategically selected locations along the railway network.
