Would it be valuable if…

  • you could handle large volumes of ballast and backfill material quickly and with high precision
  • the solution was self-propelled and able to work independently or coupled together for increased capacity?
  • the material could be placed exactly where needed, in the correct volume and without risk of overloading?
  • ballast replacement and backfilling could be carried out efficiently, gently and without disturbing existing track components?

The Ballast Feeder System handles larger volumes for ballast replacement and backfill material. With the Ballast Feeder System, you get a solution that is fast, gentle and cost-effective, while meeting high standards of safety and quality.

Since 1992, Railcare has been developing and building maintenance machines for the railway. From the first vacuum machine and the world’s first snow melter to today’s largest fully electric and battery-powered maintenance machine.

We work safely, or not at all

Safety is a fundamental aspect of our entire business, from design and assembly to track operation. We begin the building process of our machines by adhering to industry safety requirements, relevant standards, and proven design principles to ensure that every component, system, and function meets the highest safety standards possible.

Once the machines are operational, our commitment to safety continues. Our rail-mounted units are developed with a focus on stability, operational reliability and predictability in the railway environment, and we have extensive experience in delivering machines that operate safely even under complex conditions on the track. Through regular, documented maintenance and careful monitoring in ECM-certified workshops, we ensure that the machines maintain their safety level throughout their entire life cycle. Our principle in the workshop is the same as out on the track: we build safely, or not at all.
