Railcare received double nominations at Skellefteå’s business gala Alvargalan, in the categories Company of the Year and Sustainable Company of the Year.
– We have our success factor of a strong corporate culture, where all employees take great responsibility and find solutions to the customer’s problems to make the railway further sustainable. We are different in the way that we have a flat organisation where the responsibility lies with each employee, in close cooperation with both customers and suppliers, to simply and efficiently deliver our service. This has enabled improved profitability in recent years, despite challenges such as pandemics, wars and rampant inflation.
– An issue that is particularly close to our hearts is to also give something back to society from a social perspective, which we did during the pandemic when we supported schools, health and social care. Now we are making a targeted effort to strengthen social club activities to give children and young people a safe and meaningful leisure time, comments Mattias Remahl, CEO Railcare Group.
Nominations:
Company of the Year
Listed 30-year-old railway specialist with steady growth and a big heart for social sustainability. A company with operations in several parts of Europe with innovative, proprietary products and services for track maintenance. Railcare runs – both figuratively and literally – as if on rails.
Other nominees in the category: Fumex and 360 Training Center
Sustainable Company of the Year
Shipping of goods and people is a crucial part of northern Sweden’s sustainable growth. Railcare is the perfect mix of acting sustainably – and at the same time contributing to others being able to do so. By driving the development towards a more sustainable railway while the company was the first and largest in electrified railways, Railcare is a proud example of Skellefteå’s sustainable business life. The company calls itself “eljest”. Which otherwise means being innovative, prioritising people’s safety and actively working for a reduced environmental impact; then everyone should want to be “Eljest”.
Other nominees in the category: Kuusakoski and Contractor
The winners in a total of 12 categories will be presented at the Alvargalan on 26 January 2024. A day and evening when companies, people, and ideas within Skellefteå’s business life are celebrated.
* Alvargalan is named after Alvar Lindmark, the entrepreneur and inventor who in 1948 founded the company that would later be named Alimak, whose construction lifts have long played an important role on construction sites all over the world.
