The 8th of January 2019 became a significant day for Railcare, when we transported the 200th train to Kaunis Iron’s shipping terminal in Narvik, Norway. The train carried 3,250 tonnes of iron and the entire train, including locomotives, weighed 4,200 tonnes.
The first train left the shipping terminal in Pitkäjärvi on 13th August 2018 and drove to Narvik’s harbour, a distance of approximately 220 km. In total, we have transported 610,000 tonnes of iron since the start of our partnership with the Swedish iron manufacturer Kaunis Iron.
